Summary
The Rooms and photos tab of the listing editor describes the rooms in your property and which room each photo shows. Guests on Airbnb see your photos grouped by room in the photo tour, and VRBO shows them in the bedroom or bathroom they belong to. With content sync on, Host Tools sends your rooms and photo rooms to those channels when you save.
The tab has three sections: Bedrooms, Other rooms and Photos.
Adding rooms
Click Listings in the main navigation, open the listing, and click the Rooms and photos tab.
Bedrooms lists each bedroom and its beds, as before. A living room with a sofa bed or another bed goes here too.
Other rooms is for the rest of the property guests can see photos of: full and half bathrooms, a kitchen or kitchenette, a dining room, an office, a laundry room, a gym, a garage, a patio, a backyard or front yard, the exterior, a pool, a hot tub, and a living room without beds. Click Add room and pick the type. Each type shows the logos of the channels that take it.
đĄ Bathrooms you add under Other rooms set the listing's bathroom count (a half bathroom counts as 0.5). While a listing has bathroom rooms, the bathroom count on the Property Details tab is locked.
Putting photos in rooms
The Photos section works with the photos you have already uploaded on the Images tab.
Under Photos in rooms, find the room. Each room card shows how many photos it has.
Click Add photos on the room.
Pick the photos that show this room. A photo can be in one room, so picking one that is already in another room moves it here.
To take a photo out of a room, click Take out of this room on the photo.
Click Save.
Photos that aren't in any room show in the Not in a room tray. Airbnb shows these as "Additional photos".
Cover photos
The top of the Photos section shows your first five photos. The first photo is the cover on every channel, and Airbnb shows the first five on the listing's page. To change them, change the photo order on the Images tab. A cover photo stays in its room.
What reaches Airbnb and VRBO
With content sync on for the listing, saving opens the Review changes page. It shows the rooms being added or removed and, under Photos in rooms, each photo that moves.
Airbnb gets your bedrooms and other rooms, and each photo is put in its room in the photo tour.
VRBO gets the photos of your bedrooms and full and half bathrooms, put in the matching room on its photos page. The other room types don't have a place on VRBO.
Host Tools only takes a photo out of a channel room it put the photo in itself, so photos you placed directly on Airbnb or VRBO stay where they are.
â ď¸ Airbnb leaves a room with no photos out of its photo tour. Give each room at least one photo.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the rooms come from when I import a listing from Airbnb?
Importing a listing from Airbnb brings in its bedrooms and other rooms, and puts each photo in the room it has on Airbnb. Until you save the listing, those photos show a Not saved yet badge. You can move them to another room once the listing is saved.
What happens to a room's photos if I remove the room?
They stay on the listing and move to Not in a room.
Can I put a photo in a room before it is uploaded?
No. Upload it on the Images tab and save the listing first, then add it to a room.
