How do I export an iCal link from Host Tools?

Find, copy or refresh your listing's iCal export link in Host Tools, and see which booking details it includes.

Written by Tom Krones

Each listing has its own iCal export link. Other apps and calendars can read your listing's bookings from it. The export link is part of a listing's Availability settings, which only Pro listings have.

Find and copy your export link

  1. Go to Settings, then Listings (app.hosttools.com/settings/listings).

  2. Open the listing, then its Settings page.

  3. In the Availability section, open Advanced.

  4. Under Export Calendar, click the copy button next to the link.

Refresh your export link

Refreshing makes a new link and turns the old one off. Do this if you think someone you don't trust has your link.

  1. Follow steps 1 to 3 above.

  2. Under Export Calendar, click the Refresh button (the circular arrow).

  3. Click Save. The old link stops working once you save.

  4. Copy the new link and paste it anywhere you used the old one, such as another booking site, a cleaning app or a personal calendar. Until you do, those places stop getting your bookings.

What your export link includes

Each booking in the export shows:

  • the dates of the stay

  • the guest's first name, or Reserved when the booking has no guest name

  • the number of guests

  • the channel the booking came from and the listing name

The export doesn't include guests' last names, email addresses, phone numbers, confirmation codes or payout amounts. The JSON and CSV versions of the link carry the same details. If you need more information about your guests, use the Host Tools API.
