Summary

Protect your Host Tools account with multi-factor authentication (MFA). When enabled, you'll need to enter a verification code from your authenticator app each time you sign in, adding an extra layer of security beyond your password.

Setting up MFA

1. Go to Settings > Profile.
2. Under the Security section, click Enable MFA.
3. Open your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password) and scan the QR code displayed on screen.
4. Enter the 6-digit verification code from your authenticator app to confirm setup.
5. MFA is now active on your account.

⚠️ Important: Save your recovery codes in a safe place. If you lose access to your authenticator app, you'll need a recovery code to sign in to your account.

Signing in with MFA

After entering your email and password, you'll be prompted to enter a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Enter the code to complete sign-in.

Disabling MFA

If you need to turn off MFA, go to Settings > Profile, find the Security section, and click Disable MFA. You'll need to enter a verification code from your authenticator app to confirm.

πŸ’‘ Pro tip: We recommend enabling MFA on all accounts, especially if you manage multiple properties or have team members with access to your Host Tools account.
