How do I import listing details from a channel?

Use Import data to review every difference between a channel's listing and Host Tools, pick the changes you want, and put them into the listing editor.

Summary

Import data on a listing reads that listing on a connected channel and opens a Review import page. It lists every difference between the channel and Host Tools, side by side as Now in Host Tools and From the channel, with every change ticked. You untick anything you want to keep as it is, and only the ticked changes go into the listing editor. Nothing is saved until you click Save.

Importing from a channel

  1. Click Listings in the main navigation and open the listing.

  2. Click Import data and pick the channel to import from.

  3. Host Tools reads the listing on that channel. If everything already matches, a message says so and no review opens.

  4. On the Review import page, untick any change you don't want. Each section has Select all or Clear all.

  5. Click Import selected. The ticked changes are put into the editor.

  6. Check the listing and click Save. To leave without importing, click Back to editing.

Photos, rooms and amenities

  • Each photo has its own tick, and so does each caption and each photo's room.

  • Photos in Host Tools that the channel doesn't have start ticked for removal and show in red, with a banner at the top of the page. Rooms the channel doesn't have are handled the same way.

  • Amenities the channel doesn't have are removed too, but only amenities that channel can hold. The whole Amenities row has one tick.

  • A photo in a room you don't import ends up in no room.

⚠️ With content sync on, saving after an import that removes photos or rooms also removes them from your other channels. Untick any you want to keep.

Frequently asked questions

What does an import leave alone?

Only the changes on the review are imported. The listing's internal name, time zone and prices stay as they are in Host Tools.

Can I import into a new listing?

No. Import data shows on listings that are already saved in Host Tools.

What if Host Tools can't read the listing on the channel?

The review shows a banner with Try again.
