How do I use calendar rule groups?

Create a group of calendar rules once and share it across every listing that uses it.

Written by Tom Krones

What a calendar rule group is

A calendar rule group is a set of calendar rules that belongs to your account rather than to one listing. Add the group to as many listings as you like and they all run the same rules. Change a rule inside the group and the change lands on every listing using it.

A listing can use any number of groups alongside its own individual rules, and a group can hold any number of rules.

Creating a group

  1. Click Pricing in the header menu.

  2. Choose the listing you want to start from.

  3. Click Add group above the Calendar Rules list.

  4. Under Create a new group, type a name and click Create group.

The group is created and added to the listing you started from, ready for you to put rules in it.

Adding an existing group to another listing

The same Add group window lists every group on your account under Import an existing group, with how many rules each one holds and how many listings already use it. Click Add to listing next to a group to add it to the listing you're viewing.

Groups the listing already uses aren't offered — a group can only be on a listing once.

Putting rules in a group

Open the group's menu and choose Add rule to group, or click Add rule to group inside the group card. The rule is created inside the group, so it applies to every listing using that group. The reminder under each group — Applies to every listing using this group — is there for exactly that reason.

Drag the handle beside a rule to change the order of the rules, and drag a group card to move the whole group up or down your list.

What the group card shows

  • The group's name, with the rules it holds listed underneath.

  • A badge showing how many listings use the group.

  • A Paused badge when the group is paused on the listing you're looking at.

Managing a group

The menu on the group card holds every group action:

  • Rename group — renames it everywhere it's used.

  • Add rule to group — creates a new rule inside the group.

  • Pause group and Resume group — stops or restarts the group's rules on this listing only. Every other listing keeps running it.

  • Remove from this listing — takes the group off this listing. The group and its rules stay exactly as they are on every other listing.

  • Delete group everywhere — deletes the group and its rules from every listing using it.

⚠️ Delete group everywhere removes the group's rules from all of its listings at once, not just the one you're viewing. The confirmation tells you how many listings that is — check it before confirming. Use Remove from this listing if you only want the group off one listing.

Who can manage groups

Anyone who can edit prices can add an existing group to a listing, pause or resume it there, and remove it from that listing.

Creating a group, renaming it, adding rules to it, and deleting it everywhere are limited to users with access to every listing, because those changes reach listings a listing-restricted user can't see. For a restricted user, the Create group button is greyed out with a note saying so.
