Message rules send the right message to a guest or a cleaner at the right moment, so you don't have to watch your calendar. You can write one from scratch, or enable one of the templates Host Tools already suggests for you.
Writing a new message rule
Click the Messaging menu at the top of your Host Tools dashboard.
Select a listing or a listing group that you would like to add the message rule to. You can select the All Listings group if you would like to create a message rule that will work with all your listings.
Click the + Add Rule button on the right side of the screen.
Select a template from the drop-down message templates menu.
Make any modifications you would like.
Click the Save button in the bottom right-hand corner.
Enabling a template that is already in your list
Your message rule list also carries suggested rules marked with a Template badge, covering the moments most hosts automate first. They never send anything on their own, so turning one on is often the quickest way to add a rule:
Click the Messaging menu and choose the listing or listing group you want.
Find a rule with the Template badge. Templates sit after your own rules within each event group.
Click Edit message rule on the right of it to adjust the wording and timing, then click Save. To use it exactly as written, click Enable Message Rule instead.
The template then becomes one of your own active rules, and you can pause, copy or delete it like any other.
